The Worst Gay Bar in Orange County
Dirty: try not to touch or sit on anything Too Expensive: the drinks don't even cost that much at other bars in the same city! Cash Only: not everyone has cash. No Cute Bartenders: gay bars should have eye candy Awful Music: not quite sure what happened here but it's a trainwreck night after night Way Too Dark: you can't see your hand in front of your face let alone what the guy you are trying to hit on looks like! *you are better off driving to Costa Mesa
Cheers - where everybody knows your name
This is Laguna Beach's only gay bar and the bartenders are friendly and fun. At $5 for a vodka soda, I hardly find the drinks high priced. This little tucked away bar has a great crowd on the weekends and you're just as likely to see the well heeled well dressed decend from the hills to have fun as you will a made up young twink from central OC. Bounce is across the street from the beach and the crowd is funky cool and sexy. They have Karaoke Monday and Teusday and it's a stopping point for some of the cool straight community now on the weekends because it can be so much fun. It has a piece of the old Laguna and is our local Cheers bar, the summers can be full of hot tan men from all over.
Ho-Hum
This bar is nothing spectacular really. Aside from the seats at the bar, seating is sporadic and there is only one corner "booth" that faces an open area of floor where some people dance. The "DJ" consists of a guy standing next to this area behind a podium with a laptop. Drink prices are a little high but reasonable. Strange crowd at times. If you want a better gay bar/club in a setting like this, go to Newport Beach.
its stilll Main Street Bar
I was in this bar 3 weeks ago, its the same old tired Main Street Bar. and What Patio...must have snuck by me . There are NO booths to snuggle into, but a padded corner benches in the front of the bar. ITs the only gay bar left in town, sad to say, and the drinks are over priced.
Good mix of ages, gay, lesbian and a few straight
live entertainment begins at about 9:30, small dance floor, Saturday and Sunday nights best, upstairs techno dance floor, good place to meet new contacts.
