West Street Beach

100% love it
The most popular "gay beach"
Just south of town, you'll find a beach full of LA and OC boys enjoying the sun (and yes, that one over there is on his cell phone). Climb down the stairway at the end of West Street and down another stairway at the Coast Royale condo complex, then walk a bit down the beach. The friendly and good looking crowd is well worth the walk.

      Great Beach
My boyfriend and I are new to the area. We know that laguna had a past time for being the gay place to go. We wanted a place where we would still feel comfortable and enjoy the sun. This place meet both of our expectation and I will be visiting often as I now live here.

      Beats the bars
Laguna's West Beach is one of the few remnants of the gay glamour of years past. Gone are previously popular clubs the Boom Boom Room and Woody's (formerly Lil' Shrimp), and although Bounce still exists (formerly Main Street), it's hard to settle for such a small, neighborhood bar when the club/restaurant tandem that used to be just across the street is now a distant memory (ditto for going to Tin Lizzie Saloon in Costa Mesa now that dance club Newport Station is ancient history). But whether one chooses to Bounce to the only bar in town, it's hard to debate more fun may be found at West Street Beach. There are certainly more gay people at the beach during the day than at any Laguna Beach bar (gay or straight) at night. And the bodies in speedos are often works of art. It's a relaxing way to sit back and watch the eye candy or jump in and join the frisbee, volleyball, or circles of gay gossip. There's usually a better chance of meeting someone than at most gay bars, also. Parking is tough, and the hike back up the steps is a mini-workout (though nothing like the cliff at Black's Beach in San Diego). Nevertheless, West Beach has been the most consistent gay presence in Laguna Beach's shrinking gay social community.

Sunny - Boys - Blue Skies
West street is a great spot. Nearly unused on earlier weekdays. Right after 3rd street is parking on the PCH. Walk across and down tbe steps. It is wonderful. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. One time a small whale swam up to watch us - right at the edge of the water. The scenery is beautiful and this is one of those spots that is just wonderful. It's great for a long evening walk at sunset to listen to the waves and watch the stars.

Best gay beach in Southern California
White sand, good looking crowd, a bit removed from town but not secluded, in a cove area this beach has some of the hottest guys in Southern California, especially on weekends. Water is usually crystal clear and there's a great beach volleyball game on most anytime.
